This is a manufactured fear. The industrial water treatment industry operates on strict, universal dimensional standards. Step 1: Depressurization & Extraction
Ensure the high-pressure pump is locked out and tagged out (LOTO). Open permeate and brine valves to completely depressurize the vessel. Remove the end-cap retaining rings. Always push the old elements out in the direction of the feed flow (from the feed end toward the concentrate end) to avoid damaging the vessel's internal surface.
Step 2: Vessel Inspection & Cleaning
Before loading new elements, swab the inside of the FRP pressure vessel with a mild detergent solution to remove biological slime or scale. Inspect the inner walls for deep scratches. Scratches can allow feed water to bypass the brine seal, contaminating the permeate stream.
Step 3: Directional Loading & Shimming
