Pleated Architecture

1. Deep Pleated PP Media

Unlike solid melt-blown filters, High-Flow cartridges utilize a crescent-shaped pleated geometry. This maximizes the effective filtration surface area within the 6-inch diameter, allowing for massive dirt-holding capacity and ultra-low pressure drop.

2. Inside-Out Flow Path (152mm Series)

Raw water enters the center core and flows outward. All suspended solids, colloidal particles, and fine silt are trapped inside the cartridge. When it's time for replacement, the contaminants are removed with the filter, ensuring zero bypass into the clean housing.

3. Heavy-Duty Outer Cage

Constructed from high-strength polypropylene. The rigid outer cage prevents the pleated media from deforming or blowing out under high differential pressure surges during RO high-pressure pump startup.

4. O-Ring Sealing

Features a single open end (SOE) with a robust EPDM or Silicone O-ring. This fail-safe seal eliminates the bypass risks associated with stacking multiple Double Open End (DOE) melt-blown filters.

  • Melt-Blown: Double Open End (DOE) flat gasket, or 222/226 O-rings.

Change-out Protocol

To prevent RO membrane fouling, cartridges must be replaced strictly based on differential pressure (dP), not time.

  • 1. Monitor dP: Replace cartridges when pressure drop across the housing reaches 2.4 bar (35 psi).
  • 2. Never Wash: Pleated and melt-blown PP cartridges are disposable depth filters. Attempting to wash and reuse them will destroy the pore structure and cause immediate bypass.

Process Engineer's Note: The Particle Unloading Risk

Never push a PP filter beyond its recommended change-out differential pressure (2.4 bar / 35 psid). Exceeding this limit causes "particle unloading"—where previously trapped contaminants are forced through the media by extreme pressure, instantly blinding your expensive downstream RO membranes. Filters are cheap; RO membranes are not.

Why should I upgrade my plant to High-Flow cartridges?

A standard 40-inch melt-blown filter handles about 3.6 m³/h. A single 40-inch High-Flow cartridge handles up to 70 m³/h.
If your plant needs 350 m³/h of flow, you would need to install and maintain 100 standard filters. With High-Flow, you only need 5 cartridges. This reduces your housing footprint by 50%, and cuts filter replacement labor time from hours down to minutes.
Are your High-Flow cartridges compatible with Pall® and 3M® housings?
Yes. Our WD-HF-152 series is a 100% dimensional drop-in replacement for Pall® Ultipleat (Inside-Out flow, 152mm OD). Our WD-HF-165 series is a direct replacement for 3M® High Flow (Outside-In flow, 165mm OD). They feature the exact same end-cap locking mechanisms and O-ring seals.
Should I choose 1 micron or 5 micron for RO pre-filtration?
5 micron is the industry standard for RO security filtration. It effectively blocks large particles that could physically damage the RO membrane surface, while maintaining an acceptable pressure drop.

1 micron is used in highly sensitive applications (like microelectronics or specific chemical processes) where finer colloidal interception is required before the RO, though it will require more frequent change-outs.
Can I wash and reuse these filter cartridges?
No. Both pleated High-Flow and melt-blown PP cartridges are disposable depth filters. Attempting to wash them with high-pressure water or chemicals will destroy the microscopic pore structure, leading to immediate particle bypass and severe fouling of your expensive downstream RO membranes.
How do you guarantee the absolute micron rating of your cartridges?
We don't guess. Our ISO 9001 facility utilizes Multi-Pass Testing and laser particle counters to verify the absolute retention efficiency of our pleated media. A 5-micron WANDONG filter guarantees >99% removal of all particles 5 microns and larger, ensuring absolute protection for your RO system.
What is the lead time for a 40ft container (FCL) of High-Flow filters?
