Step 1: Fenton Advanced Oxidation (For High COD). For complex industrial effluents with COD up to 4000 mg/L, the process begins with a Fenton Oxidation reactor. By utilizing Fe2+ as a catalyst and H2O2, powerful hydroxyl radicals (·OH) are generated. This advanced oxidation process (AOP) breaks down refractory organics into biodegradable micro-molecules, preparing the water for biological treatment.
Step 2: Biological Effluent & UF Pre-treatment. The wastewater is biologically treated (via MBR or AO) and pumped through an Ultrafiltration (UF) skid. This crucial industrial water reuse pre-treatment stage reduces the Silt Density Index (SDI < 3) and guarantees zero suspended solids, acting as an absolute physical barrier to protect downstream membranes.
Step 3: Fouling-Resistant RO (FR-RO) Separation. Powered by premium Grundfos vertical centrifugal pumps, the filtered wastewater is forced through fouling-resistant reverse osmosis membranes (such as DOW Fortilife™). These specialized wide-spacer elements tolerate much higher organic and biological loads than standard brackish water membranes. The system recovers 65-80% of the water as high-purity permeate, leaving behind a concentrated brine.
Step 4: ZLD Pre-Concentration (Optional DTRO). For clients pursuing Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) or facing extreme discharge penalties, the RO brine is sent to a Disc Tube RO (DTRO) system. Operating at extreme pressures (up to 120 bar), the DTRO further concentrates the brine, recovering additional pure water and reducing the final waste volume to merely 5-10%.
Step 5: Thermal Evaporation & Pure Water Delivery. The highly purified permeate from both the RO and DTRO stages is routed back to the factory for use in cooling towers or low-pressure boilers, slashing municipal water bills. The tiny remaining volume of extreme brine is sent to a thermal evaporator (MVR/MED) for final crystallization, successfully achieving a turnkey Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) wastewater solution.
