1. Polyamide Ultra-Thin Active Layer

The true separation barrier. Featuring an extremely high cross-linking density and uniform thickness without pinholes. This layer determines the element's 99.85% salt rejection and superior chemical resistance against biological degradation.

2. Polysulfone Microporous Support

A highly permeable intermediate layer with a pore size of approximately 150 Angstroms. It provides critical structural support for the ultra-thin polyamide layer, preventing it from collapsing under 1200 PSI pressure.

3. PET Non-Woven Reinforcement

The foundation of mechanical strength. Constructed from rigid, non-shedding polyester fibers, ensuring the entire composite membrane remains perfectly flat and stable during high-velocity cross-flow operation.

General Handling & Preservation

  • Keep elements moist at all times after initial wetting.
  • To prevent biological growth during prolonged system shutdowns, immerse elements in a preservative solution (e.g., 1% SMBS).
  • The customer is fully responsible for the effects of incompatible chemicals and lubricants on elements.

System Startup Protocol

To prevent hydraulic shock and membrane damage during initial startup, shutdown, or cleaning, strict adherence to the following sequence is mandatory:

  • 0. Pre-treatment Verification: Ensure all upstream multi-media filters and chemical dosing systems are fully commissioned and flushed before loading RO elements.
  • 1. Feed pressure should be increased gradually over a 30-60 second timeframe.
  • 2. Cross-flow velocity at set operating point should be achieved gradually over 15-20 seconds.
  • 3. Permeate obtained from the first hour of operation must be discarded.
